Ancenis is a beautiful town on the banks of the Loire. Dominating the town is the magnificent suspension bridge taking you to the town of Liré. In spring and summer the gardens along the river are a mass of flowers. Of course, the valley of the Loire is famous for its chateaux , like Oudon, Angers, Palais Briau, Champtoceaux and Turmelière. Ancenis makes a great centre touring the whole area. The whole area is a wine growing region with many vine yards growing some of the best wines in France. You've always wanted to visit the French vineyards and come back with lots of lovely wine from the Loire valley. Now's your big chance!

Ancenis is about 230 miles south of Cherbourg if you are driving or about 30 miles from the airport at Nantes with flights from Manchester.
